New Pet Food Bank to Help the Community

New Pet Food Bank to Help the Community

We are thrilled to announce that we have opened a Pet Food Bank for pet owners in Macomb County.

Did you know?  One-third of animals entering shelters nationwide are surrendered by their owners.

While there are a multitude of reasons for the need to surrender a pet, the cost of feeding is one of them. That is why we have started our Pet Food Bank.

This is a community resource intended to keep pets with their families and out of shelters by providing pet food for those in need.

In order for this to be successful we will still need the help of the community.

Interested in helping? Donations of wet and dry, unopened pet food can be dropped off at the Humane Society of Macomb at 11350 22 Mile Road, Utica, Michigan 48317.

Depending on the success of the program we may open other satellite locations around the county. Details to come at a later date.

Know someone in need? Have them complete the eligibility form and submit it to the shelter at: ken@humanesocietyofmacomb.org, fax to 586-731-9241 or drop it off in person at the shelter.

Thank you for your support!
