Late December and early January is the perfect time for New Year’s Resolutions. But New Year’s Resolutions aren’t just for you to set for yourself. You can also make them for your pets.
A lot of resolutions focus on making the New Year a healthier one for your pets. Here are some healthy and fun resolutions we recommend for 2017:
- Measure your pet’s food: Many owners just eyeball their pet’s food. However, this can lead to serving your pet an inconsistent amount, which may make them more or less hungry when it’s time to eat later.
- Keep them safe: Whether this is updating their technology so you can track them if they get lost, or keeping chemicals out of their way, there are several ways to protect your pets. You can read more about those in our other blog posts.
- Set up pet play dates: Make sure your pets are familiar with the pets in your neighborhood, and the best way to do that is to have them meet up with each other on a regular basis.
- Exercise together: If one of your resolutions is to get in better shape, it only makes sense to include your pet. Go for longer walks, and include your pup on these so you can spend time together.
- Groom more often: Whether you prefer giving your pet a bath, or treating them to a day at the spa, making sure they look their best is a nice reward for good behavior.
- Take your dog on car rides: Getting your pet in the car can sometimes be a hassle. The more frequently you take your pet on car rides, the more accustomed they will be and the less fight they’ll put up.
