Kohl’s Cares grants $10,000 for the care of animals in Macomb County
The Humane Society of Macomb announced today that they were a recipient of a $10,000 grant from Kohl’s National Giving Program that will go towards the medical care of the animals in their care.
“We spend more than $25,000 a month on the medical care for the animals in our shelter and the entire team works hard to make sure every animal is adoptable,” said Ken Kempkens, Shelter Director. “As a no-kill shelter, every penny counts, and to get this grant from Kohl’s makes a huge impact for our entire community and we are honored to have been selected.”
Kohl’s grant to the Humane Society of Macomb was made through Kohl’s National Giving program, which awards more than $3 million in grants annually to nonprofits with a mission to support health and wellness for families. The donations are made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic program, Kohl’s Cares, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100 percent of the net profit to support happier and healthier communities nationwide.
