October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. You already know just how amazing dogs are in general, but there’s something even more special about adopting a shelter dog.
If you are considering adoption, here are 5 wonderful things that can happen when you adopt a shelter dog:

As you may already know, we are a no-kill shelter. We want to help as many animals as we possibly can.
When you adopt a shelter dog, you allow us the opportunity to not only find a furever home for one dog, but you also create room for another pet to be welcomed into our shelter.
Helping to create room for another animal will help that animal to receive the care they need, so they too can end up finding their furever home.
When one life is saved, the door is opened for even more lives to be saved!

When you adopt a shelter dog, you can expect to spend WAY LESS on adoption versus paying for specific dog breeds from stores and online.
With dog adoptions being more cost efficient, you can fulfill your desire of finding your furever friend without paying a major cost.

We need your support! Adopting from our shelter directly helps the animals in our care and saves lives.
We are proud to be a high-save shelter and the animals in our care have no time limit. Our goal is to find homes for 100% of the adoptable animals that find their way to our shelter.
When you choose to adopt through our shelter, you help us to achieve this goal of making sure adoptable animals can find their furever home.
Also, choosing to support our shelter means you’re not helping to support puppy and kitten mills that are keeping animals for the sole purpose of continuous breeding for profit. These dogs don’t get the chance to receive loving homes and are solely sold to stores or online for profit.
Know Your Pet
Puppies are cute and all, but they will need a lot of care and training. It may take time before you know their personality.
With shelter dogs, they are older, and you can see their personality firsthand. You’ll get the opportunity to see just how awesome the shelter dog is before you take them home!
This will help you determine which of our shelter dogs would be the perfect addition to your home beforehand. And to top things off, we make sure our shelter animals are up to date on much needed vaccinations.
