We are Closed Effective March 24, 2020
Our first and foremost responsibility is to the animals in our care. We wanted to take a moment to let you know that the animals are being taken care of.
- Our team has been working tirelessly to make sure that any animals that could be fostered are leaving the shelter to temporary homes.
- We will have teams at the shelter daily to take care of the animals that still remain for various reasons.
Limited staff will be allowed in the shelter. We are working hard to honor Governor Whitmer’s request for people to “Stay home. Stay safe.” However, working with live animals places us in a position where our teams are essential personnel.
We have suspended our volunteer program and community service programs at this time also.
Our pet food bank is still in operation. As the number of people experiencing hardships grows, we still want all our furry family members to eat. If you need help feeding your furever friends, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We will do what we can to get us all through this together.
Please contact the shelter to set up any appointments for the pet food bank at 586-731-9210.
Thank you for your support.
If you are fortunate enough to be able to support the shelter, our staff and operations, we would appreciate your donations. Adoptions and events are reduced or eliminated and affecting our revenue but not our expenses. Be sure to donate or check our Amazon Wish List.
Thank you!
