Neuter Your Ex
This Valentine’s Day, your sense of humor can save a life. Sponsor a spay/neuter in your ex’s name. They’ll never know, but a shelter pet’s future just got a whole lot brighter.
Because You Deserve to Laugh About It
Not every love story has a happy ending.
But this one does. For a shelter pet.
When you sponsor a spay/neuter in your ex’s name, you’re doing two things: having a little fun with the past, and making a real difference for animals in Macomb County.
Your donation prevents unwanted litters, reduces shelter overcrowding, and gives cats and dogs a better shot at finding a family who’ll stick around.
It’s generous. It’s a little petty. It’s perfect.
How it works

The Serious Part (We Promise It's Quick)
Every year, millions of animals end up in shelters because of unplanned litters. Many never make it out.
At the Humane Society of Macomb, spay/neuter is one of the most powerful tools we have to break that cycle. It’s not glamorous. It doesn’t go viral. But it works.
Here’s what your donation actually does:
🐱 $40 = 1 cat spay/neuter — prevents an average of 12 kittens per year from entering the shelter system
🐶 $120 = 1 dog spay/neuter — prevents an average of 8 puppies per year, and reduces behavior issues that lead to surrenders
You’ve got a great sense of humor. Now you’ve got a chance to put it to work for animals who need a champion.
